Privacy

Plain Economy is an educational website funded by advertising. This page explains what data is handled when you read it, by whom, and the choices you have. Last updated: 14 October 2026.

Advertising by Google AdSense

The site shows ads served by Google AdSense. To do this, Google and its advertising partners may use cookies, device identifiers and similar technologies to show ads, limit how often you see the same ad, measure how ads perform and prevent fraud. With your consent, they may also use this data to personalise ads to your interests.

Google explains how it uses information from sites that show its ads in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services. You can control personalised ads from Google in My Ad Center.

Your consent

If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, a consent message from Google appears before advertising cookies are used for purposes that need your consent. Google's message is a consent management platform certified under the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework. You can accept, reject, or choose purpose by purpose.

You can change your choice at any time with the privacy and cookie settings link that Google's message adds to the page. If you do not consent, Google may still show ads that are not personalised, under the limits its policies set.

What the site itself does not do

Hosting and technical data

The site is hosted on Cloudflare. To deliver and protect the site, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address and request logs. Cloudflare's handling of that data is described in its privacy policy.

Changes

If the site adds anything else that handles personal data, for example analytics or a newsletter, this page will be updated before the change takes effect, and consent will be asked for first where the law requires it.
